Project Summary

Responses to threats to information integrity – including disinformation, foreign influence operations and deepfakes – have been largely political or operational. Now, victims, including States, companies and individuals, are turning to the courts. But so far, there has been little analysis of the cases being litigated worldwide.

The Cyber Litigation Atlas is an interactive platform of the Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice, in partnership with the Clooney Foundation for Justice, that will map cyber litigation globally: tracking trends, showcasing successful strategies, and offering comparative analysis. In doing so, the Atlas will provide a benchmark for policy development and strategic litigation for stakeholders, including civil society, investigators, prosecutors and judges. The Atlas will be regularly updated, and aims to be the go-to tool for practitioners in this field.

Presentation of the Organization

The Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice is the first global initiative dedicated to harnessing AI for justice. Co-founded and led by Professors Amal Clooney and Philippa Webb KC, it is a partnership between the Blavatnik School of Government of Oxford University and the Clooney Foundation for Justice. The Institute advances access to justice, accountability, and fair trials in the digital age and aims to make the Cyber Litigation Atlas a leading reference in this field.
