Introducing INTAiC’s second White Paper
Artificial intelligence is transforming cyberspace at unprecedented speed. While AI is becoming a powerful tool for defenders, it is also enabling cybercriminals and state-affiliated actors to conduct faster, more sophisticated, and increasingly scalable attacks. Yet there remains a critical lack of anticipation of cyber risks. As such, this white paper examines what keeps public-interest researchers, and the funders behind them, from anticipating AI-enabled cyber risks early enough for governments to act.
To address gaps in our shared, evidence-based understanding of how advanced artificial intelligence (AI) is being, or could be, misused by adversaries in cyberspace, we are proud to present the latest White Paper from our new policy initiative, INTAiC (Integrated Network for Trusted AI in Cyberspace) — a global initiative where all stakeholders pool their knowledge and expertise.
Titled “Unlocking Public-Interest Research on Cyber Capable AI”, this report was developed in a structured consultation process conducted jointly by the Paris Peace Forum and the Centre pour la Sécurité de l'IA (CeSIA) with researchers and funders across ten countries.
The white Paper highlights critical factors to be addressed:
As the workstream's co-leads, the Paris Peace Forum and CeSIA will continue to cooperate with the funding and research ecosystem ahead of the next edition of the Forum this November.
