Resilient Transitions
Spring Meeting 2026
The Paris Peace Forum Spring Meeting 2026, organized in partnership with OCP Group and hosted by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, focused on the theme “Resilient Transitions”. The Forum notably advanced its policy initiatives during this Spring Meeting, which received the label of the “French Presidency of the G7”.
After two successful Spring Meeting editions held abroad (2024 on “Fair Transitions” in Morocco, and 2025 on “New Coalitions for SDGs” during the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Sevilla, Spain), this Spring Meeting took place on June 4-5 in Rabat, Morocco, between the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya (May 11-12) and the G7 Summit in Evian, France (June 15 to 17).
A Key Moment on the Global Governance Agenda
As the world enters a decisive decade, geopolitical tensions, economic volatility, climate change and supply chain disruptions are reshaping global priorities and weakening multilateral cooperation, leaving less than 20% of SDG targets for 2030 on track. The question is no longer only how to accelerate transitions, but how to make them resilient.
In this context of rising fragmentation, the Spring Meeting 2026 brought together global leaders, international organizations, researchers, investors and civil society to build new coalitions and concrete strategies ensuring that climate action, economic development and social stability advance together.
Hosting this Spring Meeting in Rabat reflected the conviction that global solutions must emerge from inclusive dialogues between the world’s regions. Morocco occupies a unique position in this regard — a crossroads between Africa, Europe and the Arab world, and a laboratory for innovation in sustainable agriculture, energy transition and regional economic cooperation — making it an ideal partner to strengthen North-South cooperation and advance shared solutions for a resilient future.

Priorities
Paving the way for the November Forum edition, the 2026 Spring Meeting focused more specifically on building a resilient future in a disrupted world, with a program aligned with G7 Summit priorities and mainly focused on the following topics:
A focus on Resilient Transitions
On food systems, the second edition of the ATLAS Investment Barometer was presented during the AgriConnect session. This annual barometer published by the Paris Peace Forum, tracking public, private and development finance flows into African agriculture, highlights that Africa currently receives only 3% of global agricultural investment — against a target of 10% by 2030 — and that private investment continues to decline, at a rate of -2% per year. Yet investing in African food systems could help address 30 to 50% of the global SDG gaps.
Discussions around the Child Priority Framework reaffirmed the need to place investment in childhood at the heart of international agendas and took stock of progress made ahead of the G7 Summit on the Children’s Agenda. In his closing remarks, Justin Vaïsse announced that this momentum will find a natural continuation at the ninth edition of the Paris Peace Forum, on 10 and 11 November 2026, through the organization of a Childhood Summit within the Forum itself.
Regarding transition minerals, a policy note was launched during the June 4 roundtable to inform the work of the French G7 Presidency on financing more sustainable, equitable and resilient value chains, building on the work of the Task Force convened by the Forum. Ahead of the Évian Summit, this note sheds light on how credible financing approaches can be aligned with the expectations of resource-rich producer countries.
