Paris, May 5th, 2026 – The Paris Peace Forum will be present in Nairobi on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit, from May 10 to 12, where it will coordinate the “Social Innovation Pavilion”, host two roundtables on Maternal and Child Health and African agriculture, and host a social event for with high-level participants in collaboration with two of its key partners, the AKDN and the Government of Kenya (represented by its Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs), on Sunday, May 10.
In line with its ambition of creating new coalitions of committed stakeholders capable of delivering concrete solutions aligned with the 2030 SGD goals, the Paris Peace Forum will host, alongside the Foundation for Innovation in African Democracy led by Prof. Achille Mbembe, the Social Innovation Pavilion, a multi-stakeholder event supported by around fifty pan-African and French civil society organizations.
Within the Pavilion, the Forum will hold a roundtable on “Maternal and Child Health” (May 10, 5:20 pm), exploring how to make maternal and child health a sustainable political priority in a context of shrinking public resources. This panel - which will bring together on stage Botswana’s former president, Gates Foundation’s Director for Africa, Amref’s CEO, and representatives from the AJDN and GAVI – is part of the Child Priority Framework, our initiative aiming to place child health, education, and nutrition at the heart of global development efforts.
A stand within the Pavilion will also showcase the Forum’s Solutions Hub, where we support and accelerate innovative initiatives that provide concrete responses to issues of governance, sustainable development, and international cooperation. Since 2018, the Forum has supported nearly 600 projects worldwide.
On May 12, the Forum will co-organize, in partnership with BCG, a roundtable titled “How Can Agribusiness Advance African Agriculture” (by invitation only). Convening C-level leaders from the private sector and the development community (AGRA, OCP Group, the Rockefeller Foundation, Danone, ONE Campaign, and others), the discussion will focus on African-led value chains, homegrown agri-tech innovation, North-South partnerships, and the role of agribusiness in enabling nutritious school meals.
