Launched in May 2023, the UNIDIR AI Policy Portal is an interactive platform addressing AI's complex policy landscape and its global security implications. As an extensive resource, it offers timely data on AI strategies, frameworks, policies, and related initiatives. Its wide-ranging features provide a comprehensive understanding of AI policy for 193 UN Member States, selected intergovernmental organizations, and multistakeholder initiatives. The portal includes in-depth national profiles, enabling dissemination of policy information and collaboration among stakeholders. It includes feedback mechanisms, ensuring accuracy and relevance of profiles as policies evolve. The Portal's core aim is to foster trust, transparency, and cooperation in AI policy. By offering a robust and user-friendly platform, it enables informed decision-making and active participation in shaping AI governance.

The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is an autonomous UN institute. It generates ideas and promotes action on disarmament and international security-related issues. Based in Geneva, UNIDIR helps the international community find practical solutions to today's challenges.
