8th edition
29-30 October 2025
A global scale event in the heart of Paris
There are more conflicts than at any time since the Second World War. Extreme climate events like drought and wildfires have never been so frequent. AI is developing faster than our understanding of it or our ability to leverage its benefits and limit its negative impact. Cuts to aid budgets mean backsliding on key development goals. These challenges will not go away just because we ignore them. International cooperation is more important than ever, yet tensions and rising authoritarianism mean consensus is more difficult to find than any time since at least the end of the Cold War.
Since 2018, the Paris Peace Forum has sought to reinvent diplomacy a changing world and work towards better global governance of public goods – and its mission is more relevant than ever this year. Its 8th edition took place at the Palais de Chaillot on 29-30 October under the theme “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet.”
Leaders from government, international organizations, business, civil society, and academia, representing both the Global North and the Global South, took the stage to debate and advance solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.
New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet
An Iconic Venue Facing the Eiffel Tower
Hosted at the Palais de Chaillot at Trocadero (facing the Eiffel Tower), the Forum brought together more than 500 speakers and 4000 participants. Discussions covered themes such as preventing and resolving conflicts, defending democracy and information integrity, investing in children as a driver of development, leveraging AI for peace and development, and scaling transformative climate solutions.
A Pivotal Moment for Collective Action
This edition spotlighted the urgency of building new alliances for action in a political context marked by fragmentation and conflict, from Ukraine through the Middle East to Central Africa.
The Forum also marked the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, providing a unique opportunity to inject fresh momentum into global climate efforts in the run-up to COP30 in Belém.
