Kilimora is closing the gap between smallholder farming cooperatives and global climate finance through research, technology, and technical assistance. Our AgriKonnekt initiative enables youth and women-led agricultural cooperatives to verify regenerative farming practices using offline artificial intelligence and soil sensors, generate verified carbon credits, and receive mobile money payments within 24 hours, without requiring internet connectivity. Operating on basic feature phones through a local-language interface, the platform reduces environmental verification costs by 70 percent compared to manual auditing. We have enrolled 1,500 farmers across six counties in Kenya, documented a 65 percent income increase in the Murang'a pilot, and filed a provisional patent for the dual verification architecture in February 2026. Partners include AUDA-NEPAD, MK-Africa, WRI, and KCIC.
Kilimora CLG is a Kenyan research and product development social enterprise working at the intersection of climate finance, agricultural technology, and community economic inclusion. Founded after observing the structural exclusion of African smallholders from capital markets designed to reward environmental stewardship, Kilimora builds the tools, evidence, and partnerships that make climate finance genuinely accessible to youth and women-led enterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa.
