The ILO is implementing the project Combating Child Labour in the Cobalt Supply Chains in the DRC in Lualaba Province, with funding from the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) of USD 2.5 million for 36 months. The project aims to strengthen the efforts of the government and key actors in the fight against child labor in the cobalt industry. The three components of the project are: (i) improve the common understanding of the challenges and opportunities in combating child labour in the cobalt supply chains in the DRC; (ii) strengthen the capacities of the government and other relevant stakeholders; (iii) improve private sector efforts in monitoring and addressing child labour.
