“Resilient Transitions”: Paris Peace Forum Spring Meeting in Rabat to Focus on Shock Resilience for Development

Paris, May 13, 2026 - The Paris Peace Forum is pleased to announce that its 2026 Spring Meeting will be held on June 4 & 5 in Rabat, in partnership with OCP Group and supported by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

After a successful first edition held in Morocco in 2024 on the theme Fair Transitions, the 2026 Spring Meeting of the Paris Peace Forum will be held in Rabat on June 4 & 5, in partnership with OCP Group and supported by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

In a world marked by uncertainty and tensions, cooperation remains the only path to lasting peace. Focusing on the theme “Resilient Transitions”, the Spring Meeting will bring together global leaders, international organizations, researchers, investors and civil society actors to identify solutions that allow societies to navigate disruptions while advancing sustainable development. Building resilient transitions is not merely an economic or environmental imperative: it is an essential condition for global stability and prosperity.

A key event on the international calendar

Labeled in the context of the French presidency of the G7, the Spring Meeting will offer a complementary platform to the G7 process and will notably help to advance the policy initiatives of the Paris Peace Forum. The Meeting will take place after the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi (11-12 May) and prior to the G7 Summit in Evian (15 to 17 June).

The Spring Meeting is a forum designed to foster the formation of coalitions capable of bringing about lasting change; Africa, at the heart of global transitions, is a key driver of solutions for the future”, said Justin Vaïsse, Founder and General Director of the Paris Peace Forum

Three main themes

The Spring Meeting 2026 will focus on the key challenge of designing transitions that can withstand crises and deliver lasting benefits for all. The program has thus been designed around three main themes:

  • Food systems and agricultural transformation in Africa, building on the work of the ATLAS initiative, and through exploring new funding mechanisms for sustainable agriculture.
  • Investing in children and future generations, through the Child Priority Framework, which recognizes that the well-being of children is one of the most powerful levers for long‑term stability and development.
  • Responsible governance of transition minerals, ensuring that the global energy transition is underpinned by transparent, equitable and sustainable value chains that recognize the strategic role of producing countries in the Global South and support their long‑term industrial development.

Towards the 9th edition of the Paris Peace Forum

By bringing together political leaders, heads of international organizations, businesses, researchers and representatives of civil society, the Spring Meeting is a key step in the preparations for the annual Forum, which will take place on 11 & 12 November 2026. It will provide an opportunity to identify emerging priorities, build coalitions of stakeholders and develop concrete solutions to address global challenges.
