2023-24 Scale-up project
Overview
AHJ promotes peace and stability in conflict zones by supporting women journalists, activists, and artists through education, advocacy, and networking actions.
AHJ 's initiative “Women Voices Without Borders” (WVWB) amplifies their voices, supporting them in their professional integration in the field of media, human rights and environment. WVWB aims to ensure women's full participation in feminist governance and their active role in their societies affected by war and discriminations.
Project's trajectory over past year
After a year of support, we continue our efforts for peace and stability.
We have opened an office in Yemen and launched a podcast channel with a new studio. Additionally, we established Iraq's first vodcast production studio and expanded the WVWB initiative in Egypt, amplifying our impact across the Middle East.
With renewed support from the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, we are gearing up for our inaugural regional forum in Erbil. This forum represents a significant advancement in empowering women in human rights and environmental advocacy.
Impact
“Women in leadership roles are rare in conflict zones. AHJ has empowered and mentored me, providing a supportive environment to lead and drive positive social change in our communities.”
