Project Summary

Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) is a proven, simple and sustainable regreening technique which can unlock hidden underground forests to rapidly restore degraded land, heal the environment and improve livelihoods and wellbeing.

Globally FMNR has already regenerated over 18 million hectares. FMNR has been successfully implemented in over 40 countries, and World Vision aims to expand to over 70 countries in the next five years. World Vision has tested a scaling approach in four African countries that combines the FMNR practice with mobilising partners, catalysing widespread community adoption and working with governments to advocate for policies, laws, and funding to support greater uptake of FMNR.

Evidence guide maps show FMNR can achieve the change Earth needs for its degraded land, its most vulnerable populations now and a future liveable planet for everyone’s children.
