Interactive Playscape Project

Karmayog Foundation
South Asia
2025

Project Summary

The Interactive Playscape Project by Karmayog Foundation transforms unused school spaces into creative, eco-friendly play areas using recycled materials like tires and scrap metal.

Designed for children aged 3 to 14 in rural Nepal, these playscapes promote physical, cognitive, and emotional development, while encouraging school attendance through play-based learning. With over 50 playscapes built and a 99% rise in attendance, the project has proven impact. Community members are actively involved in the building process, creating local employment, environmental awareness, and long-term ownership.

We aim to reach 100+ schools by 2026, building inclusive, climate-resilient spaces that empower the next generation through joy, learning, and sustainability.
