Agroforesterie et Reforestation Communautaire

Project Summary

The province of Ituri is facing accelerated deforestation and soil degradation due to intensive mining and agricultural exploitation. These phenomena are undermining food security and local biodiversity. This project proposes a nature-based approach, integrating agroforestry and community reforestation to restore ecosystems and strengthen the climate resilience of local populations.

Objectives:
• Restore degraded land through the planting of native trees and the integration of agroforestry crops.
• Strengthen climate resilience by stabilizing soils and regulating the hydrological cycle.
• Diversify local communities' incomes by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and alternatives to mining.

Presentation of the Organization

Actions pour le Développement et l’Entrepreneuriat (ADE Asbl) is an organization created on April 6, 2015, based in Bukavu, with a branch in Bunia. Its objective is to promote peace, social cohesion, and entrepreneurship. ADE supports communities through training, agricultural projects, and soil restoration. Its participatory and innovative approach aims to strengthen local autonomy and improve living conditions in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
