Project Summary

Eco Char transforms agricultural biomass waste into biochar and clean energy through an innovative carbon scrubbing kiln. Targeting smallholder farmers and underserved communities in Kenya, the project addresses soil degradation, air pollution, and rural poverty. It promotes regenerative agriculture, sequesters carbon, and generates sustainable income through biochar sales and clean syngas fuel.

With support from local farmers' groups, county governments, and environmental NGOs, Eco Char has restored 50 hectares of degraded farmland, reduced CO₂ emissions, and empowered 300+ women and youth.

The long-term objective is to scale across East Africa, creating a model for clean energy and sustainable farming integration.
