In the year 2000, the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) was passed. Now, it is time to take stock: of participation and representation of women at all levels of decision-making in foreign and security policy and of diversity in Peace and Security in general. The #SHEcurity Index is based on a unique data set that collects data from the EU, its Member States, the G20 and all countries that have a National Action Plan (NAP) on the WPS agenda - all of this in five key categories, namely politics, diplomacy, military, police and civil & military missions for over 100 countries. Since its 2021 edition, in addition to the numeric analysis, the index also includes qualitative parts (#SHEcurity+) looking beyond the aspect of increasing women in numbers.
