GSMC's Informed Society Initiative is designed to: 1. Help educate youth to become informed information consumers, able to separate fact from fiction and determine the credibility of news sources; 2. Give journalists the skills to avoid repeating mis/disinformation to the adult public. Through a far-reaching "media literacy" effort in primary and secondary schools and at the university level, coupled with training journalists to avoid giving credibility to false information, the project will contribute to the development of an informed society able to avoid being misled by "fake news".
