Disinformation Radar for the Balkans is a regional initiative addressing disinformation as a cyber threat to peace, democracy, and EU values.
Targeting vulnerable populations in all six countries of the Western Balkans, especially youth, minorities, and civic actors—it uses AI to monitor, analyze, and counter disinformation campaigns that exploit ethnic tensions and political divisions. The project aims to strengthen resilience to hybrid threats, support democratic institutions, and foster regional cooperation.
In the long term, it seeks to institutionalize ethical, tech-enabled early-warning systems and promote responsible digital behavior. It builds on an established methodology, existing research, and a regional database of narratives and disinformation actors, and already produces a live “watch and warn” newsletter. Key partners include certified members of EFCSN and IFCN.
Metamorphosis Foundation is a leading civil society organization based in North Macedonia, dedicated for over twenty years to advancing democracy, human rights, and digital resilience.
