The Paris Peace Forum is a multi-stakeholder platform launched in 2018 that aims to respond to global challenges through, in particular, a large-scale annual event. Throughout the year, the Forum works to strengthen the governance of global commons such as climate, space or oceans, and to improve international management of global challenges, particularly those of digital and disruptive technologies. Its annual event, in November, brings together heads of state, government and international organizations, as well as leaders of civil society and the private sector, to discuss political initiatives and concrete projects, with an emphasis on the participation of the global South.

The team of the Permanent Secretariat of the association, composed of varied and diverse profiles (diplomacy, public relations, communication, programming, operations, etc.), is currently looking for a policy officer: Global council for responsible transition minerals to reinforce its teams.

The person recruited will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Organization of events and sessions on minerals for energy transition, in liaison with the relevant teams (programming, operations): search for opportunities to hold side-events, choice of themes, recruitment of speakers, drafting of briefs, etc;
  • support for fund-raising for the “Environment” program: pitch the Global Council for Responsible Transition Minerals to potential partners, prospect search and follow-up of ongoing partnerships in liaison with the relevant teams;
  • internal communication on the program’s activities and support for external communication on the environment program and in particular on the Global Council for Responsible Transition Minerals. In liaison with the communications team, definition of a communications strategy, drafting of articles and opeds, and potential development of a website;
  • support the Head of the Environment Program as needed: preparation and organization of meetings of the Global Council for Responsible Transition Minerals and of expert meetings, drafting of background notes and minutes and
  • weekly monitoring of minerals and energy transition news.

 

PROFILE

  • Level of training: Master 1 or 2;
  • areas of specialization: international relations, energy, environment;
  • professional command of written and spoken English and French (C2 level or equivalent required) and
  • proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office Pack) and digital tools.

CONDITIONS

Full-time, fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months, starting early September 2024.

Salary: 33, 000 euros gross per year.

50% reimbursement of:

  • luncheon vouchers;
  • transport pass;
  • the association’s health insurance scheme.

The offices of the permanent secretariat of the Paris Peace Forum are located in Paris (15th arrondissement). It will be possible to telecommute for a maximum of 2 days per week, subject to approval by management.
