Covid-19 learning app

The spread of the novel coronavirus created enormous challenges for health workers everywhere. The volume of information and the lack of trust in sources compounded these challenges, making it difficult for an already overburdened health workforce to manage information and apply trusted evidence to practice. Faced with this, the WHO Academy team dedicated its technological prowess and innovative spirit to finding concrete solutions to help them battle COVID-19. After surveying more than 20,000 health workers worldwide to determine their pandemic-related learning needs and how they prefer to access information, the Academy team built an app to deliver mobile access to a wealth of COVID-19 guidance and learning resources developed by WHO – including, most recently, an augmented reality tool to teach health workers the safest way to put on and remove their personal protective equipment.
