Qodwa-Tech, launched by MCIT in 2019, aims at driving women’s socio-economic empowerment through digital innovation. It equips marginalized women—especially artisans in remote areas—with AI-powered digital literacy, e-marketing, e-commerce, fintech, and content creation skills.
Leveraging a unique peer-learning model "Knowledge Pioneers", the project has trained and benefited 32000 women, boosting incomes up to 60% and enabling exports. Its adaptive DPI includes hybrid training (cloud platforms), mentorship, and AI-driven social media marketing.
Recognized globally, Qodwa.tech scales impact through partnerships with 7 governorates and 12 cross-sector allies. It also champs environmental sustainability by promoting local materials and reducing travel emissions. A replicable blueprint for gender-inclusive DPI, Qodwa.tech transforms barriers into bridges—turning tradition into global trade.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) spearheads Egypt's digital transformation, overseeing initiatives like Qodwa-Tech which empowers Egypt's 2.5 million female artisans through ICTs. Implemented by MCIT's Central Department for Digital Community Development, the project bridges digital divides for marginalized women entrepreneurs across 27 governorates. Partnering with UNDP and GIZ (both Paris Peace Forum members), Qodwa-Tech aligns with Egypt Vision 2030.
