Project Summary

Africa Agriculture Watch (AAgWa) is an open-access platform by AKADEMIYA2063 delivering timely, satellite-based forecasts of food crop production across 47 African countries.

Using AI and Earth observation data, it monitors nine key staple crops and provides pre-harvest insights at district and pixel levels. AAgWa addresses Africa’s chronic agricultural data gaps, supports early warning systems, and empowers decision-makers with real-time, actionable intelligence to enhance food security, climate resilience, and crisis response.

Built by African experts, it strengthens data sovereignty and demonstrates the continent’s capacity to lead in tech-driven agricultural transformation.
