Scripted Lesson Planner (SLP) is an AI-powered assistant that simplifies lesson planning for teachers in sub-Saharan Africa. Through an intuitive step-by-step process, SLP enables educators to create customized lesson plans and materials efficiently, saving valuable time. Built on a strong pedagogical foundation, it incorporates both established education theories and local curriculum requirements, ensuring culturally relevant and effective instruction. While SLP covers all primary and secondary school subjects, it places special emphasis on topics crucial to youth health and well-being, such as Life Skills, Guidance & Counselling, and Sexuality Education. This focus addresses critical societal needs in the region. By automating the foundational aspects of lesson creation, SLP not only saves time but also enhances the overall quality of instruction.
UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa (ROSA), is a cluster office covering all of UNESCO’s programme sectors in southern African countries. Guided by the principles of cultural diversity and human dignity and in collaboration with its partners, governments, and institutions, the regional office (among other mandates) seeks to advocate for and build countries’ capacity for the provision of universal access to quality basic education and the expansion of access to ICTs.
