Presentation of the Project

The Get Heard initiative, launched in 2018 in Morocco, addresses the urgent need to break the culture of fear and silence that persists around issues of harassment, violence, and other gender-based abuses.

The core objective of Get Heard is to strengthen the advocacy capabilities of young women in Morocco by encouraging them to speak out and advocate against gender-based violence through the documentation of podcast stories. The project primarily targets Moroccan women and girls, with a particular focus on the experiences of immigrant women from sub-Saharan Africa living in Morocco. Built on the two key pillars of capacity building and creating digital platforms, Get Heard’s workshops and digital tools both raise awareness about laws protecting women’s rights and combat violence against women by giving voice to personal stories and experiences.

Presentation of the Organization

The Youth Empowerment Society (YES) works to empower young people by creating learning opportunities, strengthening capacities, and building networking opportunities with local and international organizations.

YES aims to be a reference in empowering youth in marginalized areas and focuses on offering leadership training for young men and women in Morocco to enhance their political participation, opening networking opportunities with local and international organizations to exchange experiences, and enhancing the communication skillsets of target groups to encourage their expression of new ideas.
