Evaluation of Right to Information Implementation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

Throughout the history of Pakistan, secrecy has been the rule, and the disclosure of information an exception. KPIC took a lead role in designing an innovative intervention with the Center for Law and Democracy (CLD) to assess implementation of RTI laws. Despite being well established, current evaluation methodologies developed for SDG 16.10.2 still lack the potential to assess complex and difficult settings. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hence became the first province to pilot the ‘RTI Assessment Methodology’ involving representatives from all sectors (government, media, academia, civil society) in the process.
