Community Cohesion through Community Media

This project supports the continued existence of independent local media platforms and content, through which Iraqis can engage more effectively in dialogue with local and central government, access accurate information and be more resilient in the face of divisive rumors and sectarian narratives. Implemented by BBC Media Action, Al Mirbad is an example for how ethical, non-biased public interest media that facilitates constructive, democratic discourse can change the shape of public accountability for the better and allow citizens to engage effectively in their political process.
