Project Summary

The project aims to develop and implement a comprehensive technology for decarbonisation and dust suppression during mass blasting in quarries.

The innovative approach is based on applying a natural peat-based reagent in internal and external hydro-stemming systems, which reduces harmful gas emissions (CO, NO₂) by 70% and dust by up to 50% into the atmosphere, minimising the environmental impact of mining activities. Laboratory and industrial trials were conducted at mining enterprises of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih JSC and the Metinvest Group.

The project aligns with EU strategic priorities for industrial decarbonisation, air quality preservation, and the development of environmentally clean mining technologies.
