CoM SSA is a dynamic bottom-up tool for local authorities to engage in the fight against climate change and to foster the access to low carbon energy to provide sustainable urban services to their citizens. COM SSA supports cities in developing their Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plans (SEACAP), in line with national policies, plans and reporting requirements; The initiative supports them as well in the effort to unlock climate finance through the preparation of concrete infrastructure projects able to meet local needs (housing, transport, access to energy, waste management, etc.). For this purpose, technical support is provided to these authorities as well as a framework of cooperation that facilitates the dialogue between peers.
