Paris Peace Forum Launches Endowment Fund with €10 Million Pledge from Aga Khan Development Network

Paris, October 28, 2025 To ensure its long-term financial stability and support its ambitious growth strategy, the Paris Peace Forum has launched an Endowment Fund, with the goal to constitute a financial reserve that will generate interest to provide reliable year-on-year funding on top of existing donations. The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), one of the Forum’s founding members, is the first donor, with a pledge of 10 million euros.

This week, the Paris Peace Forum will be holding the eighth edition of its annual Forum on October 29-30 at the Palais Chaillot, devoted to building “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet.” With over 80 sessions tackling the most pressing global issues, the Forum is taking place in the face of ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, and Sudan, as well as the worsening climate emergency, the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and falling aid budgets that threaten the lives and livelihoods of millions. Leaders from government, international organizations, business, civil society, and academia, representing both the Global North and the Global South will be present, including His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Chair of the Aga Khan Development Network.

The multi-million-euro endowment aims at ensuring the Forum’s growth and financial stability for the next 20 years, and protecting the Forum from fluctuations in fundraising, all the while generating interest that will be a reliable additional annual income. This decision is the result of a strategy review organized by the Paris Peace Forum which saw us affirm new ambitions: growing to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world and building the infrastructure to reinvent diplomacy. At the heart of this transformation is a mission, all the more relevant today: to originate, shape, and share responses to global challenges that affect us all.

The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), one of the Forum’s founding members and a strategic partner for many years, is the first donor to this fund, with a pledge of €10 million. This donation reflects the strong alignment between the AKDN’s priorities and the Forum’s work on global governance, development, emerging technologies, and peace. His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V has been a regular attendee of our annual Forum.

“The challenges of our century require institutions that can sustain long-term, courageous work across borders and sectors,” said the Aga Khan. “The Paris Peace Forum has shown it can convene diverse actors and catalyze solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems. With this pledge, the Aga Khan Development Network is proud to support the Forum’s enduring capacity to innovate for peace and equity.”

Justin Vaïsse, Founder and Director General of the Paris Peace Forum, added: “We are deeply honored by this extraordinary commitment from the Aga Khan Development Network. It is a vote of confidence in the Forum’s mission and a crucial step in securing our independence, stability and impact for the decades ahead. This endowment will allow us to plan and act with long-term vision, and to keep building the new coalitions that global governance so badly needs.”

The Paris Peace Forum invites other partners and philanthropic actors to contribute to the Endowment Fund and help build a permanent engine to reinvent diplomacy in a changing world.
