Paris, September 18, 2025 – There are more conflicts than at any time since the Second World War. Extreme climate events like drought and wildfires have never been so frequent. AI is developing faster than our understanding of it or our ability to leverage its benefits and limit its negative impact. Cuts to aid budgets mean backsliding on key development goals. These challenges will not go away just because we ignore them. International cooperation is more important than ever, yet tensions and rising authoritarianism mean consensus is more difficult to find than any time since at least the end of the Cold War.
Since 2018, the Paris Peace Forum has sought to reinvent diplomacy a changing world and work towards better global governance of public goods. Its mission is more relevant than ever this year, with its 8th edition taking place at the Palais de Chaillot on 29-30 October 2025 under the theme “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet.”
Leaders from government, international organizations, business, civil society, and academia, representing both the Global North and the Global South, will take the stage to debate and advance solutions to today’s most pressing challenges. They include:
Hosted at the Palais de Chaillot at Trocadero (facing the Eiffel Tower), the Forum will bring together more than 300 speakers and thousands of participants. Discussions will cover themes such as preventing and resolving conflicts, defending democracy and information integrity, investing in children as a driver of development, leveraging AI for peace and development, and scaling transformative climate solutions.
This year’s Forum will spotlight the urgency of building new alliances for action, in a political context marked by fragmentation and conflict, from Ukraine through the Middle East to Central Africa. It will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, providing an opportunity to inject fresh momentum into global climate efforts in the run-up to COP30 in Belém.
“How do we tackle the world’s toughest challenges at a time when threats to transatlantic cooperation, North-South dialogue and respect for international norms have never been so great? At the Paris Peace Forum, we believe in multilateralism, but we know that the old models must evolve. That is why this year’s edition is about forging new coalitions for peace, people and the planet. By convening decision-makers and opinion-makers from every region of the world, the Forum aims to bridge gaps and work towards concrete solutions.”, said Justin Vaïsse, Founder and Director General of the Paris Peace Forum.
In addition to announcing participants, the Forum has opened press accreditation for the 2025 edition.
