2025

Project Summary

Solar Energy for Resilient Communities is a clean energy initiative by KatexPower that delivers affordable, plug-and-play solar solutions to underserved and off-grid populations in Nigeria, particularly women-led households and youth.

We combat energy poverty and reliance on harmful fuels by deploying decentralized solar home systems and lanterns, supported by community training in maintenance and entrepreneurship. To date, we’ve impacted over 500 households and created 50+ jobs through inclusive local engagement. Our innovation includes AI tools to extend solar panel lifespan and repurpose used modules for the secondary market.

Long-term, we aim to reach 1 million people across Sub-Saharan Africa. Key partners include the D-Prize, UMIFund, and regional community-based organizations. This project promotes energy equity, climate resilience, and inclusive green growth.
