The Madad for Women regional gender program has been instrumental in improving livelihood, agency and legal and social protection for Syrian women refugees, internally displaced and women from host communities in Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq/KR-I. The project combines the provision of an emergency response based on comprehensive and accessible protection services and decent work opportunities, with work on long-term development to support a sustainable shift in gender roles in the region. Community outreach and awareness raising are an important component to reach the project’s objectives. The consortium led by EFI gathers Care International Lebanon, Legal Action Worldwide and Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering in Lebanon; Business Development Centre and Tamkeen in Jordan; Baghdad Women’s Association and Women Empowerment Organization in Iraq.
