Index of multilateralism

The Multilateralism Index Project aims to measure international commitment to multilateralism in the areas of peace and security, human rights and humanitarian action, international development, international trade, climate action, and global public health. The project will assess: - whether or not a true crisis of multilateralism is occurring by determining, using quantitative and qualitative data, areas that have experienced a decline in commitment to multilateralism, and areas where it remains vigorous and resilient; - how multilateral engagement is changing over time by measuring the extent to which formal and informal fora are being used as platforms for collective problem solving, including in emerging areas; and - where international attention may be necessary to adapt and strength particular vulnerable areas, thereby enabling the development of targeted policy interventions.
