IWAI was launched to create financial accounts reflecting a company’s financial, social, and environmental performance. Monetary impact measurement in financial statements is a necessary condition for the acceleration of impact economies that optimize risk, return and impact, and produces new insights for investors and corporate decision-makers. The ultimate aim is to change the economy from maximizing financial return to maximizing comprehensive stakeholder value creation. Sponsored by IMP and the GSG and in collaboration with B4IG, the project has completed 15 research pieces, built a diverse advisory council, and piloted research with a dozen organizations to ensure applicability and resonance within business scenarios.
