The Comprehensive Planning and Performance Assessment System (CPAS) provides a concrete solution to assess the impact of UN peacekeeping, which contributes to strengthening global governance. CPAS provides missions with a tool to more systematically assess their operating environment and show progress towards those goals using data and analysis, which are used to track impact over time and formulate recommendations to decision-makers to enhance the effectiveness of peacekeeping operations to better achieve global peace and security objectives. As CPAS is designed to allow missions to quickly adapt plans to changes in their operating environments, it has been able to help missions respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. CPAS has assisted missions in better planning and coordinating support to national authorities’ response to COVID-19 and in continuing to deliver their critical mandates.
