The Paris Peace Forum is a multi-stakeholder platform launched in 2018 that aims to respond to global challenges. Throughout the year, the Forum works to strengthen the governance of global commons such as climate, space or oceans, and to improve international management of global challenges, particularly those of digital and disruptive technologies. Its annual event, in November, brings together heads of state, government and international organizations, as well as leaders of civil society and the private sector, to discuss political initiatives and concrete projects, with an emphasis on the participation of the global South.

The association’s permanent secretariat team, composed of diverse and versatile profiles (diplomacy, public policy, communication, programming, operations, protocol, etc.), is currently seeking a colleague to fill the position of Operations Officer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Operations team, the Operations Officer will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the 9th edition of the Paris Peace Forum.

  • Monitor the various aspects of event production (programming, logistics, technical aspects, hospitality, scenography, etc.), sometimes in cooperation with an event agency;
  • Identify, select, and negotiate with suppliers (caterers, venues, technical service providers, etc.);
  • Support operations management to ensure the operational link between the Paris Peace Forum teams, the mobilized resources, and respective institutions;
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and draft detailed reports;
  • Take minutes and prepare presentations;
  • Supervise 1 or 2 interns.

The Operations Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations, in close collaboration with the Operations Manager, as well as with all members of the permanent secretariat.

 

PROFILE

  • Desired prior experience: 3 years’ experience in event planning;
  • Previous experience in organizing large events with a political and/or international dimension will be appreciated as well as initial experience in leading a team (volunteer or otherwise);
  • Education: Master’s Degree (Bac +5);
  • Proficiency in French (mandatory) and English, both written and oral (C1 level or above is mandatory);
  • Proficient in project management tools and office software (Microsoft Office Suite);
  • Knowledge of graphic design software (Canva). Experience with event management applications and databases (an asset).

CONDITIONS

  • Full-time, fixed-term contract for a period of 9 months;
  • Start date: mid-March 2026;
  • Salary: 36,000-38,000 euros gross per year depending on profile;
  • Benefits: meal tickets and reimbursement of 50% of the cost of transportation;
  • The offices of the permanent secretariat of the Paris Peace Forum are located in Paris (15th arrondissement). Up to two days of remote work per week may be authorized, subject to management approval.
