The Paris Peace Forum is a French initiative launched in 2018 to create a multi-actor platform in Paris to address global governance issues. Throughout the year, the Forum works to strengthen the governance of global commons, such as space, cyberspace, or the oceans, and improve the international management of global issues, the development of AI and disruptive technologies, or the ecological and social transition of the economy. Its annual event gathers heads of state, government and international organization, as well as civil society and private sector leaders, around concrete initiatives with an emphasis on the global South.

The team of the Permanent Secretariat of the association, composed of varied and versatile profiles (diplomacy, public relations, communication, programming, operations, etc.), is currently looking for an intern to reinforce its Agriculture program – and in particular its ATLAS “Agricultural Transitions Lab for African Solutions” (atlas.parispeaceforum.org).

 

The person recruited will be responsible for the following tasks:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in support of the director of the ATLAS (Agricultural Transitions Lab for African Solutions) initiative to prepare all the Lab’s activities, work on expanding the international North-South coalition for sustainable agriculture, fundraising, public relations and communications;
  • helping to prepare the various ATLAS events, in particular the seventh Paris Peace Forum;
  • follow the latest news on African agriculture, produce a regular press review and develop expertise on the subject, which could be useful in preparing ATLAS round tables and
  • help with communication work (website management in particular.

PROFILE

  • Education: Master 1 or 2;
  • areas of specialization: International Relations, Public Affairs, International Development, Agriculture;
  • proficiency in English and French, both written and oral (C1 level or equivalent required) and
  • mastery of office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and digitally savvy.

 

SKILLS & QUALITIES REQUIRED

  • Excellent writing skills;
  • thoroughness, autonomy and initiative;
  • ability to work as part of a team and
  • ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines.

 CONDITIONS

Full-time internship, fixed-term contract for a period of 5-6 months, starting in September 2024.

Internship agreement required.

Bonus: 750€ gross per month, 50% reimbursement of: luncheon vouchers and transport pass.

The offices of the permanent secretariat of the Paris Peace Forum are in Paris (15th arrondissement).
