Everybody needs health, everybody fears diseases. Conflict fuels the spread of disease and deprives people of health. Across conflict lines and political rivalries, health can become the best neutral avenue for peace, mediation and dialogue. Health, has a significant role to play in the agenda for sustaining peace. The World Health Organization is aiming to support health professionals to become an engine for change and dialogue, bring warring groups to go beyond conflict-fueled politics to support universal health coverage instead of attacking health facilities, bring parties to conflicts around a neutral health technical space as a doors-opener for dialogue, and help patients to regain confidence in the health system and by extension in society and the state at large.
