Generation equality forum

We are at a critical point for gender equality: 25 years after Bejing Conference on Women, the Covid-19 crisis has provoked unprecedented damage to gender equality worldwide. The Generation Equality Forum, the largest post-crisis international feminist gathering, will be a milestone to achieve concrete and irreversible progress for women’s rights. Kicking off in Mexico City and culminating in Paris in June 2021, the Forum will bring together States, civil society and the private sector. Six Action Coalitions, which are multi-stakeholder partnerships, will launch a set of measurable and transformative actions within the period of 2021-2026 on priority issues (Gender-Based Violence, SRHR, Economic Rights, Climate Justice, Feminist Movements and Leadership, Technology and Innovation) and a new Compact on Women, Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action will be developed.
