Project Summary

Up-to-date information is critical for effective disaster response, motivating the need to complement on-the-ground situation assessments with AI-assisted analyses of digital trace data and satellite imagery. Building safe AI solutions for such analyses is a big lift for humanitarian organisations. DISHA brings together data and technology providers, funders, and humanitarian organisations to co-create AI solutions for disaster response and put them to use at scale across the humanitarian system.

DISHA's satellite imagery solution works globally, allowing to locate building damages 6 times faster post-disaster. DISHA's mobile data solution allows to detect population displacement in a region that is home to 115M people, affected by 20 typhoons annually.

Core partners include UN Global Pulse, Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, Google.org, UNDP, WFP, McKinsey and Co, Jain Family Institute.
