The pandemic has created a space for collective action, allowing communities to co-create solutions. The crisis served as an important reminder that south-south cooperation is needed for carving out policy space for the recovery of the South. The Global Development Centre promotes alternative, indigenous development narrative based on experiences from the global South and encourages peer learning in developing countries. India’s rapid construction of a digital vaccination platform Co-WIN (Covid-19 Vaccine Intelligence Network), a people-centric inoculation drive, is one such solution to be considered for replication in the Global South.
