The Policy and Regulation Initiative for Digital Africa (PRIDA) aims to enable the African continent to reap the benefits of digitalization and build the capacities of AU Member States. It is a joint initiative of the African Union (AU), the European Union (EU), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) supported by the EU-funded Pan African Program. ITU implements the activities related to connectivity (spectrum), while the African Union Commission implements the activities related to the African Digital Transformation Strategy, the Digital Single Market, and Internet Governance. The initiative aims to create harmonized policy, and a legal and regulatory framework for the use of ICT for social and economic development, with an emphasis on boosting the spectrum market across Africa.
