The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD) is a new blended finance partnership launched in 2019, that steers capital towards projects that strengthen the climate resilience of vulnerable populations and ecosystems. The fund is structured through three operationally linked facilities. The DFCD Water and Land Use Facilities are managed by CFM and FMO and aim to invest in project that relate to adaptation such as sustainable agriculture and wastewater treatment. The DFCD Origination Facility is managed by both SNV and WWF and originates projects that address socio-economic and ecological challenges in several landscapes using grants and technical assistance. The fund makes use of a landscape approach, to reconcile competing economic, environmental and social objectives. Already, the fund has been active in Kenya, Sierra Leonne, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, and Uganda.
