Biography

Tony Estanguet is the first French athlete winning three gold medals during three different Olympic Games : Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and London 2012. He is also a three-time world champion and three-time champion of Europe in canoe slalom.​​Flag bearer of the French delegation during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he was a member of the International Olympic Committee from 2013 to 2021. In 2015, he co-chaired with Bernard Lapasset the Bid Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, before becoming President of the Games Organizing Committee following the choosing of France in 2017.​​As President of Paris 2024, with the stakeholders and private partners of the event, his ambition is to propose a new model of Games that are both spectacular, accessible to as many people as possible but also more responsible, while allowing everyone and everyone to thrive through the unique power of sport.
