Biography

Pedro Vieira Abramovay is a lawyer, graduated in law from the University of São Paulo, Master in law from the University of Brasília and PhD in Political Science from IESP - UERJ. He was Legal Advisor to the Brazilian government leadership in the Senate (2003-2004), Special Advisor to the Minister of Justice (2004-2006), Secretary of Legislative Affairs (2007-2010) and National Justice Secretary (2010). He also acted as a Professor of Law at FGV-RJ (2011-2013) and Director of the Avaaz campaigns (2012-2013). In 2022, Pedro published the book A Democracia Equilibrista - Políticos e Burocratas no Brasil together with Gabriela Lotta. He is currently Vice President of Programs at Open Society Foundations.
