Guillaume de Brier is a Researcher at IPIS. He specialises in conflict analysis and natural resources governance, particularly in the mining sector in Central Africa.Over the last years, Guillaume focused on the EU strategies to supply critical and strategic minerals and to regulate the sector. He dedicates specific attention to the impact of EU responsible sourcing regulations in resource-rich countries, especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo.Before joining IPIS, Guillaume was the Human Rights Programme Officer for UNAIDS, in Rwanda. He previously worked with the Belgian Cooperation (Enabel) in Burundi on the implementation of public health reforms. Guillaume is also the producer of the feature-length documentary “We Will Win Peace,” which analyses mineral regulations and conflict in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Guillaume holds a Masters in Conflict and Development (UGent) and a Bachelor in Contemporary History (ULB).
