GS is professor of international relations Emeritus and the founding dean of its Paris Scool on International Affairs/PSIA. He has served as ministrr of culture in Lebanon (2000-2003) and at the UN as personal advisor to Secretary General Kofi Annan. Lately He was (2017-2020) special represenrative of the UNSG in Libya. He is the author/editor of a dozen books.
