Biography
Gabriela is a passionate social justice leader and lifelong advocate for human rights. She is currently President and CEO of the Fund for Global Human Rights, a non-profit organisation supporting grassroots human rights activists and movements around the world. The Fund partners and funds effective human rights activists with long term core support to build powerful movements for change. She previously served as executive director of Oxfam International and held different roles at Plan International.Throughout her 25-year career with leading development and human rights organizations, Gabriela has been a vocal champion of justice and human rights. From working alongside children and communities affected by conflict in her native Colombia to calling out global inequality on the global stage, she has fiercely advocated for the rights of vulnerable or marginalized people everywhere. Gabriela holds a DEA in History and Civilizations from the EHESS in Paris and a BA in Philosophy and Literature from the University of Los Andes in Bogota.
