Biography

Ben C. Solomon is a Pulitzer Prize-winning documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and correspondent who has reported from over 60 countries, covering most major wars of the past decade. He began as a video producer at The New York Times, becoming one of its youngest Pulitzer winners at 26 and serving as its first multimedia correspondent, based in Cairo, Istanbul, Nairobi, and Bangkok. Since then, he has continued to innovate in visual journalism, creating The Fight for Fallujah, the first VR film shot in a combat zone. His work, recognized with multiple Emmys, a George Polk Award, and the Cannes Lion Grand Prix, led him from The Times to VICE News, where he covered conflicts in Myanmar, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. In 2023, he joined The Wall Street Journal, focusing on the wars in Ukraine, Sudan, and Israel/Palestine. Based in New York, Ben continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
