AI offers boundless promise, revolutionizing healthcare, tackling climate change, and addressing global hunger. Yet, its ascent brings inherent risks, epitomized by the proliferation of deep fakes – AI-generated content eroding trust in information and threatening democracy. In this transformative decade, we must do more than cautiously navigate; we must actively shape AI's trajectory. Across the globe, multi-stakeholder initiatives bear witness to ongoing efforts to create an international governance framework. As in previous years, the Paris Peace Forum does its part to make these efforts converge. In this high-level session, we'll explore how AI redefines societies, scrutinize its impact on diplomacy, security, ethics, and human rights, and design international governance to harness its potential while mitigating risks. Join us in charting a future where AI serves humanity, addressing global challenges, and safeguarding our democratic foundations.
