Emerging threats and cut-edge risks: a turning point for peace and security in cyberspace?

Ensuring trust and safety in the digital world

In recent years, some of the most rapidly developing technological innovations have come under public and political scrutiny, swinging between promises of major progress and warnings of far-reaching risks for humanity. While their lasting impact on the ICT environment makes no doubt, international questions arose about cybersecurity challenges posed by their widespread use. Governments as well as the larger stakeholder community rapidly focused on how these trends questioned existing frameworks, and what new rules, principles and guardrails were required to safely benefit from this rapid innovation. This high-level roundtable will gather leaders from the Paris Call community with hands-on experience to explore how to address most prominent cyber challenges in light of current and emerging technological developments and market trends - including the rise of artificial intelligence, progress in quantum technologies, and the commercial proliferation of cyber offensive tools and services.
